First unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November, the Nissan Sentra Nismo officially comes to Canada this week at the Montreal International Auto Show. The Nissan Sentra Nismo is the most powerful and efficient version of the Sentra range and is designed to impress the most demanding drivers while being affordable.
The Nissan Sentra Nismo arrives at the Montreal Auto Show
The Nissan Sentra Nismo is the latest Nismo version of the Nissan lineup after the Nissan 370Z Nismo, the Juke Nismo and the Nissan GT-R Nismo. Here is a car that impresses with a powerful 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission that has been redesigned to offer better performance while being fuel efficient.
"Offering a six-speed manual transmission with the new Sentra NISMO was a no-brainer for us, to enhance both its pure performance and the direct relationship between driver and vehicle," said Bert Brooks, Senior Director, Product Planning, Nissan Canada Inc.
Visually, the Nissan Sentra Nismo stands out with an aggressive aerodynamic package, large black 18-inch wheels and a sportier interior with an Alcantara finish for the steering wheel. There are three body colors: Gun Metallic, Super Black and Aspen White. The aerodynamics of the new Sentra Nismo have also been improved quite a bit compared to the other versions of the Sentra lineup.
Suspension tuned for sporty driving in the 2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo
The 2017 Nissan Sentra will not only be fast in a straight line as the suspension has been completely revised by Nissan engineers. Note the presence of monotube shocks in the rear as well as recalibrated struts in the front that operate on oil as well as gas with two separate chambers. In less technical terms, this translates into a very fast suspension response time and thus better stability in dynamic driving.
