Completely redesigned and introduced at the 2015 Detroit International Auto Show, the Nissan Titan has since seen its trim lineup expand to include two variants, the base Titan model and the XD version. In both cases, buyers get a full-size pickup that can tackle any job with its powerful engines, but they also get a truck that stands out in comfort and refinement.
In other words, the new 2017 Nissan Titan may be the perfect fit if you're looking for a truck that's capable of being rugged on the jobsite, but luxurious on the daily commute.
Two engines are offered in the 2017 Nissan Titan lineup
As previously mentioned, the 2017 Nissan Titan is offered in base and XD trim levels. While the former starts at $35,498, the latter is available starting at $37,250. The 2017 Nissan Titan is powered from the get-go by a 5.6-liter V8 engine with 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque available at just 3,400 rpm.
This engine is also available in the Nissan Titan XD, but the latter also offers a very powerful 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8 engine with 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque as an option.
While the first V8 engine is able to tow up to 9,770 pounds or 4,330 kilos, the Nissan Titan XD and its Cummins engine can tow up to 12,350 pounds or 5,606 kilos. What's really impressive about the Nissan Titan XD is that it offers this kind of capability at a much lower price than most of its equally powerful rivals. In addition, the V8 turbodiesel engine gets 20% better average fuel economy than the V8 gas engine.
Top-of-the-line equipment in the 2017 Nissan Titan
As we mentioned at the outset, the 2017 Nissan Titan is not only capable of taking it on, it is also luxurious and refined. There are several versions of the Titan in the catalog, and without going into a description of each know that the level of equipment is impressive.
