Nissan started 2015 on a roll and ended the year the same way, posting a substantial increase in sales and setting new records at the same time. December was also an excellent month for the Japanese automaker.

Nissan actually sold 8,555 cars in December 2015, 16.7% more than in December 2014. For the year, Nissan finished with 118,655 new vehicles sold, a 12.8% increase over the previous year.

This is the second time the automaker has finished above the 100,000-vehicle mark registered in Canada, a substantial increase that reflects the success brought by all of Nissan's new models such as the Micra, Sentra, Maxima, Rogue, Pathfinder, Murano and Altima, all of which have been redesigned in recent years.

Several Nissan models such as the Micra, LEAF, Rogue, Murano, Armada, Frontier and NV200 have reached new sales heights. The Nissan Rogue is the best-selling compact SUV in its class, an important distinction in such a competitive segment. There were 35,841 Rogues sold last year, up 24.3 percent from 2014.
