When Nissan unveiled the all-new 2017 Nissan Qashqai at the Detroit International Auto Show, the Japanese automaker promised that it will be affordable. What we didn't know, however, is that the 2017 Nissan Qashqai will be the most affordable subcompact SUV in its segment. That is indeed the case, however, as Nissan announced this week that the new Qashqai will start at $19,998, a few thousand dollars less than its main rivals.
The 2017 Nissan Qashqai gives you a lot of bang for your buck
At this price, we get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. We also get a trunk that can accommodate between 648 and 1,730 liters of cargo space. In addition, most versions of the 2017 Nissan Qashqai are offered with Nissan's Divide-N-Hide system that adds even more versatility to Nissan's new subcompact SUV.
In terms of equipment, the 2017 Nissan Qashqai offers standard heated seats, a 5.0-inch center screen, a rearview camera, and Bluetooth. You can opt for a manual transmission or even a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Qashqai comes standard with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional on S and SV models, and standard on SL models.
The Qashqai SV starting at $24,598 offers heated steering wheel, sunroof, cruise control, 17-inch wheels and much more. It's also available with all-wheel drive starting at $26,798. As for the SL model, this is the best-equipped version of the Qashqai range. It features leather seats, 19-inch wheels and a 7.0-inch center screen with navigation system.
